WalkNTalk - 26th June 2012
The evening walk around some of the sites of the valley taking in 6000+ years of history was a big hit!
We had 20 members attend the walk (this was a members only event) and the feedback was so encouraging that we are already planning our next one!
The talk took in the main places that our archaeological and documented history research had been involved in, plus a few we hoped to tackle in the future.
The walk took us to places on the MoD land that the public are not allowed to go to. We are very grateful to have this special access agreement.

Below are some recent highlights:
A tour of Cyril Formby's workshop. Cyril is a book restorer and bookbinder and is an expert at book conservation. He is also HMHG's curator of documents and artifacts. We were very privileged to be given an insight into the tricks of this very specialist trade. We are hoping Cyril will do a public talk for us soon.
Jubilee Party - Greenmount Village, Bank Holiday Tuesday, 2012
Public Events - HMHG are often asked to take part in bigger events run by other groups

Above Middle: Test pit (Trench 1) is opened at Dover Chapel site
Above Right: Our Marquee containing all our displays
We have took part in FIVE events in 2012 where we have put up our displays for the public to see and had members on hand to answer questions. These events are a great opportunity not only to show what we do but to meet interesting people.
In 2012 we have been at: Lancashire History Day, Woolfold Gap Bridge opening, Greenmount Village Jubilee Party, Ramsbottom Heritage Society's 30th Anniversary and Bolton Archaeology Fair
We also attended the Lancashire History Day in 2013 and other local events in that year.
A Walk N Talk over the moor in July 2016 lead by Mr Smith.
Discussing such mysteries as The Breathing Ground and Whirlwind Hall.
ABOVE: Two talks in 2015 organised by Holcombe Moor Heritage Group.
More talks to come in 2016.
